Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will work under supervision on more advanced tasks and assist higher-level technicians as you learn advanced mechanical skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, managing parts, completing documentation, and ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations while delivering reliable service to fleets nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations awareness and DOT medical or pre-employment screening.
• DOT card status as described for medical or physical requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Carry out minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Independently manage parts inventory and service truck equipment.
• Document work on RO using iOS device and TRAIT app, including parts used and findings.
