Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support branch staff across multiple locations. You will assist customers with transactions, promote digital tools, and help resolve routine issues while maintaining strong risk and controls. Travel is required within the designated area.

The role emphasizes empathy, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach, with emphasis on accurate logging of transactions and AML/KYC duties. A high school diploma and 6 months’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 6 months customer service experience including data entry and cash handling.
• Ability to travel between branches as needed.
• Proven verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized with time management and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service and understanding of customer needs.
• Educate customers through digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities.
• Greet customers, engage in lobby management, and address immediate needs.
• Balance and process transactions accurately following bank policy.
• Resolve escalated account issues and log complaints in the system.
• Offer introductions to banking partners for relevant sales opportunities.
• Handle branch operations such as cash orders, vault, ATM, and wire transfers.
• Maintain customer/account information accurately and comply with AML/KYC duties.
• Adhere to compliance controls and corporate policies.
• Support a welcoming environment aligned with the M&T Bank brand.
