Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support branch operations and customer service across multiple locations in the New York area. You will focus on digital engagement, lobby management and accurate transactional processing to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You will travel between branches as needed, balance cash, handle routine maintenance and AML/KYC tasks, and collaborate with banking partners to identify opportunities. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 months customer service experience including data entry or cash handling
• Ability to travel between branches as needed
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Proven interpersonal skills and customer service mindset
• Well-organized with good time management and prioritization
• Proficient with internet user-level technology

Responsibilities

• Adhere to customer service standards and deliver solutions to customers' needs
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations and promote self-service options
• Engage in lobby management and greet customers
• Accurately balance and process customer transactions per policy
• Own escalated account services issues to resolution and log complaints
• Introduce sales opportunities to the appropriate banking partner
• Support branch operations (cash orders, vault, ATM, wires)
• Perform Consumer AML/KYC activities and comply with risk controls
• Promote M&T Bank brand and uphold internal control standards
