Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support branch customers through digital engagement, lobby management, and retail servicing. You will process a variety of transactions accurately and adapt to moving between branches to assist staff.

The role emphasizes empathy, compliance, and proactive service; you will balance cash, log customer interactions, and identify self-service opportunities while promoting the bank's brand. This position requires willingness to travel between branches as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to branch customers and resolve routine issues in a timely manner.
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities.
• Actively engage in lobby management, greet customers, and address immediate needs.
• Accurately balance and process customer transactions following Bank Policy.
• Log and resolve customer complaints in the appropriate system; escalate as needed.
• Transition identified sales opportunities and introduce customers to banking partners.
• Perform branch operational tasks (e.g., cash ordering, vault, ATM, wires).
• Process customer/account maintenance accurately; comply with AML/BSA/KYC requirements.
