Job summary

Leidos seeks a Mission Engineering Analyst in San Diego, CA to develop mission-level simulations using AFSIM across space, air, maritime, and ground domains. The role emphasizes modeling, evaluation, and integration of Leidos software within the AFSIM framework.

You will collaborate with SMEs and engineers to drive operational analysis and ensure scalable, reusable models. The position requires strong programming in Python or MATLAB, DoD mission knowledge, and experience with Agile DevSecOps

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related field; 8+ years experience (or Master's with 6+).
• 4+ years modeling, simulation, and analysis, preferably using AFSIM.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
• Strong understanding of DoD programs and military operations.
• Experience with Agile DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop models of multi-domain systems of systems and software in mission-level simulations using AFSIM, to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
• Create advanced models of space, air, maritime, and ground systems and their behaviors.
• Conduct model evaluation and validation.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming techniques to maximize M&S environment scalability and extensibility.
• Analyze simulation results to communicate system and software effectiveness in real-world context.
• Collaborate with SMEs, software engineers, and analysts to maximize Operational Analysis productivity.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to maintain high coding standards.
• Document model development processes, results, and best practices for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AFSIM capabilities.
