Job summary

Leidos in San Diego seeks a Principal Mission Engineering Analyst to develop mission-level simulations using AFSIM and integrate Leidos software within the framework. You will work with SMEs and engineers to model multi-domain systems of systems and analyze results for decision support.

The role requires strong OO programming skills (Python/MATLAB), DoD experience, and familiarity with Agile DevSecOps. Expect collaboration across teams and stakeholder presentations in a fast-paced defense

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related field.
12+ years of relevant experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis.
Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
Deep understanding of military operations at the mission and/or campaign level (DoD).
Experience with Agile DevSecOps practices.
Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop models of multi-domain systems of systems and software in mission-level simulations using AFSIM.
Create advanced models of space, air, maritime, and ground systems and their behaviors.
Apply object‑oriented programming techniques to maximize M&S scalability and extensibility.
Analyze simulation results to inform conclusions in real‑world contexts.
Collaborate with SMEs, software engineers, and analysts across Leidos.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Document model development processes, results, and best practices for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in AFSIM capabilities.
Assist in creating technical documentation and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
