Job summary

Leidos in the Defense Sector seeks an experienced Mission Engineering Analyst to develop multi-domain system models and mission-level simulations using the AFSIM framework, integrating Leidos software to support decision making.

You will collaborate with SMEs and software engineers, perform code reviews, document processes, and stay current with AFSIM capabilities while addressing complex, real-world defense problems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related field plus 8+ years of experience (6+ with master).
• 4+ years in modeling, simulation, and analysis, preferably with AF SIM.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
• Deep understanding of military operations at mission/campaign level (DoD programs).
• Experience with Agile DevSecOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; effective communication and collaboration.
• US citizenship with Top Secret clearance; 50% office work at specified locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-domain system models and mission-level simulations using AFSIM.
• Create models of space, air, maritime, and ground systems; evaluate and validate.
• Apply object-oriented programming to maximize M&S scalability.
• Analyze results and communicate effectiveness for real-world applications.
• Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, and analysts to boost Operational Analysis productivity.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
• Document development processes and share findings.
• Stay updated on AFSIM advancements.
• Prepare technical docs and presentations for stakeholders.
