Job summary

Carter Lumber in Indiana is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow our millwork and full line of building materials with builders and subcontractors in both residential and commercial projects. You will sell projects, manage that job, and nurture ongoing customer relationships on site.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of millwork sales experience, strong communication, blueprint reading, and the ability to take-offs and prepare estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience selling Millwork products including interior trim, interior doors, and interior hardware.
• Ability to cold call future customers and to grow relationships with existing customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs.
• Ability to go to job sites to measure doors and trim.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service.
• Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on interior and millworkproducts.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
