Carter Lumber in Huntington, IN is seeking an enthusiastic Outside Sales Rep to sell millwork and building-materials to builders and subcontractors. You’ll manage projects from sale through completion, visit job sites, and maintain strong relationships with customers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of millwork sales, excellent communication, blueprint-reading ability, and a proven track record of growing profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years selling Millwork products including interior trim, interior doors, and interior hardware.
• Ability to cold call future customers and to grow relationships with existing customers
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs
• Ability to go to job sites to measure doors and trim
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service
• Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers licence

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on interior and millworkproducts
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
