Job summary

Carter Lumber in Decatur, IN is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow millwork sales with builders and subcontractors. You will develop relationships, present product lines, and manage projects from quote to shipment, focusing on interior trim and millwork products.

You will travel to job sites as needed, take-offs, prepare estimates, and work to increase sales and profitability while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience selling millwork products (interior trim, interior doors, interior hardware).
• Ability to cold call future customers and grow relationships.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs.
• Ability to visit job sites to measure doors and trim.
• Proven ability to increase sales and profitability.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on interior and millworkproducts.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
