Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Rep with a passion for sales and customer service. You will develop relationships with builders and subcontractors, present product benefits, and manage take-offs and estimates for millwork products, including interior trim and doors.

The role emphasizes building trust, meeting sales targets, and coordinating job-site visits to ensure timely orders and satisfied customers across residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years selling millwork products (interior trim, doors, hardware).
• Ability to cold call and grow relationships with new and existing customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform take-offs.
• Ability to visit job sites to measure doors and trim.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Decision making and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with customers and subcontractors to assess needs and provide beneficial services.
• Achieve and maintain sales of all products, focusing on interior and millwork.
• Give presentations to builders and provide expert advice on features and benefits.
• Do take-offs and prepare estimates, ensuring orders ship on time.
