Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Rep focused on millwork to grow relationships with builders and subcontractors, selling interior trim, doors, and related products. You will manage terms, prepare estimates, and present product features to customers on job sites.

You will visit sites, perform measurements, and use MS Office for communication and documentation, with strong emphasis on service, profitability, and timely orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years selling millwork products (interior trim, interior doors, interior hardware).
• Ability to cold call future customers and to grow relationships with existing customers.
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs.
• Ability to go to job sites to measure doors and trim.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service.
• Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers and subcontractors to determine their needs and provide beneficial services to them.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining the sales of all products, focused on interior and millworkproducts.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Do take offs and prepare estimates for these products and ensure they are ordered and shipped accurately and on time.
