Structure Tone Southwest is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to perform MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for projects. The role involves reviewing plans, obtaining cost data from subcontractors, and maintaining cost databases to ensure accurate bids.

Interactions with architects, clients, and operations staff are essential to understand project objectives and schedules. The successful candidate will develop hard bids or negotiated pricing, ensuring coverage of all items and up-to-date

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field with 2–3 years of MEP estimating experience.
• Strong estimating, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems for cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare quantity take-offs for MEP projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and analyze bids for conformance with specs and costs.
• Maintain cost estimating database and use software to track estimates.
• Compute cost factors; prepare bids and determine cost-effectiveness.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and internal staff to resolve issues.
