Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest is seeking an Electrical Estimator with MEP estimating experience to develop hard bids and negotiated pricing for complex projects. You will interface with architects, clients, and operations staff to understand objectives and schedules, gathering cost data from subcontractors and suppliers to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, soliciting bids, analyzing bids for accuracy, and maintaining up-to-date cost data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or related field, plus 2-3 years of MEP estimating experience.
• Well-developed estimating, communication, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to complete cost estimates without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare quantity take-offs for assigned projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids for MEP projects and analyze bids for conformance to specs and cost.
• Maintain current information on construction codes to ensure complete bids.
• Develop inclusion worksheets and track bidding progress with subcontractors.
• Utilize software to calculate, record, and track estimates for bids and planning.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and team members to resolve issues during estimating.
