Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest is seeking an Electrical Estimator to conduct mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) estimating, budgeting, and bidding for assigned projects at our Dallas office. You will interact with architects, clients, and operations staff to ensure clear understanding of project objectives, schedules, and information.

Develop hard bids or negotiated work pricing from proposal requests, obtain cost data from subcontractors and material suppliers, and maintain an active database

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or related field, plus MEP estimating experience.
• Well-developed estimating, communication, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare quantity take-offs for projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids for MEP projects.
• Review bids for conformance to specs, price, quality, insurance, and wages.
• Maintain current information on codes to ensure complete bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop scope-specific inclusion worksheets and track subcontractor bid completion.
• Utilize software to calculate, record, and track estimates; maintain costing databases.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management planning, scheduling, and vendor selection.
• Consult with clients and vendors to discuss and resolve estimates.
• Interface with internal teams to support cost estimates.
• Analyze completed projects to explain variances between estimated and actual costs.
