Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred; or equivalent education/experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean 3-year driving abstract may be required.

Responsibilities

• Designs a 7-day-a-week person-centered program engaging residents in dementia-friendly activities.
• Develops monthly calendars with resident input and coordinates special events.
• Ensures programs comply with Brookdale standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with leadership to educate families and staff about dementia care.
• Supervises program assistants and supports staff development as needed.
• Oversees events, budgeting, and potential community outreach.
