Job summary

National Federation of Independent Business is seeking an Elite Outside Sales Advocate to grow NFIB membership through direct, in-person outreach to small business owners. You will present a proven sales approach, close new members, and articulate NFIB’s advocacy on behalf of small businesses.

The role offers paid training, full benefits, and an uncapped commission/bonus plan. Ideal for high-achievers with an entrepreneurial drive who excel in field sales and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven entrepreneurial mindset with ownership of a business or department.
• Relational grit to cold-call small business owners and build rapport.
• Fast learner with a coach mentality and ability to learn a structured sales model.
• Strategic adaptability to overcome objections and close deals.

Responsibilities

• Prospecting: conduct in-person cold calls to engage independent business owners.
• The NFIB Presentation: master and deliver a concise, 5-minute sales presentation.
• The Close: enroll members with an assumptive one-call close and process payments on the spot.
• Advocacy: educate owners on NFIB's work in Washington, D.C., and your state capitals.
