Job summary

Anytown YMCA in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Membership Representative to welcome and assist members, promote memberships and programs, and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere. The role emphasizes responsive service to members and guests and supporting community engagement.

Responsibilities include handling member inquiries, conducting tours, selling memberships, and building positive relationships with volunteers and members while upholding YMCA policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of the other person.
• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants; supports member retention.
• Conducts interviews and tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members; helps members connect with others at the Y.
• Welcomes, connects, and supports members; encourages involvement and community giving back.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns; informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies YMCA policies related to member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor locker rooms as required.
