Job summary

The YMCA seeks a part-time Member Service Representative to welcome members, greet by name, and promote memberships and programs. You will respond to member needs, keep facilities clean, and maintain accurate records in the Daxko database.

You will build relationships, conduct tours for prospective members, resolve concerns, and support fundraising while upholding YMCA policies. This role emphasizes service, engagement, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Relationship skills: welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, determined.
• Communication skills: efficient verbal and written skills; polite telephone etiquette; listening.
• Member service skills: customer service, sales, or related experience; ability to relate to diverse groups.
• Computer skills: general computer knowledge; typing ability.
• Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid; NSMO within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members; greet by name; be approachable; form relationships.
• Connect with members; engage in meaningful conversations; introduce members to staff and other members.
• Support: know member goals, affirm and encourage; wish them well.
• Invite: share opportunities to get involved and give back to the community.
• Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, including on the phone, to support retention.
• Conduct interviews and/or tours; sell memberships.
• Handle and resolve membership concerns; inform supervisor of issues.
• Apply YMCA policies; ensure entry requires active membership or valid reason.
• Provide information on memberships and programs available.
• Support fundraising and promote the YMCA's mission.
• Maintain accurate records in the Daxko database.
• Towels: collect, wash, dry, fold, and hand out; monitor locker rooms.
