Job summary

Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA is seeking a Member Services Representative to deliver exceptional service to members and the community under the guidance of the Membership Director. This role emphasizes member retention, information accuracy, and strong interpersonal skills.

The position requires flexibility for various shifts, including nights and weekends, and the ability to use computers and phone systems to support program and facility operations.

Qualifications

• Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Complete Leader Certification on LINK within the first 6 months of employment.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Answer phones in a polite, professional manner, routing calls to appropriate departments.
• Provide members with detailed, accurate information regarding schedules, costs, wait lists, programs and facility information.
• Build relationships with members and help them connect with the YMCA.
• Handle and resolve membership concerns; inform supervisor of issues.
• Input memberships, programs and guest information into Daxko accurately.
• Opening and closing of the YMCA building; balance/dash end-of-shift cash drawer.
