Job summary

Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA in York, PA is seeking a friendly Welcome Desk Associate (part-time) to serve as the first point of contact for members and guests. You will handle check-ins, memberships, registrations, and front desk operations in a fast-paced, community-focused setting.

Ideal candidates will have at least six months in customer service and strong computer skills. CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required or obtainable, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of customer service, hospitality, retail, or sales experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required or ability to obtain.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members, guests, and visitors with exceptional customer service and professionalism.
• Manage member check-ins, answer questions, and provide information about YMCA programs, services, and facility amenities.
• Respond to phone calls and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Process memberships, program registrations, point-of-sale transactions, payments, and receipts accurately.
• Promote YMCA memberships, programs, and events while assisting prospective members with enrollment opportunities.
• Conduct tours and help introduce visitors to YMCA offerings.
• Maintain accurate records using membership management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Support shift-change procedures, closing responsibilities, and front desk organization.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment by following YMCA policies and emergency procedures.
• Provide support during facility emergencies, including AED and 911 response situations as appropriate.
