Job summary

The Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta, ME is seeking a friendly part-time welcome desk associate to greet members, process memberships, answer questions, and direct visitors.

This role requires early mornings, evenings and weekend shifts, strong customer service, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with diverse people while upholding YMCA values. CPR/First Aid training provided within 60 days; High School diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
• Team player with superb interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Comits to the YMCA’s mission, vision and values to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.
• Works with supervisor to create and implement procedures and/or programs and/or curriculum.
• Works with program participants and volunteers to deliver safe, quality programming while adhering to all standards.
• Greets members, answers phones, answers questions, and/or directs members to the correct department supervisors.
• Processes member payments and assists with cash handling.
• Promotes YMCA programs and services to existing and potential members and recruits new members.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with participants and connects participants to the YMCA.
• Monitors facility usage and ensures members and visitors adhere to YMCA rules and core values.
• As a Mandated Reporter, recognizes signs of abuse or neglect and reports to supervisor and the appropriate authorities.
