Job summary

Bickford Senior Living in Iowa City is seeking a Medication Technician to support resident care by accurately administering medications per physician orders and using the eMAR system. This role emphasizes compassionate care and maintaining residents’ dignity to help them live life to the fullest.

The position offers part-time evening hours and full-time overnight shifts, with benefits for full-time staff, daily pay availability, and a 401(k) with employer match.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification or 1+ year care experience.
• Approved Medication Manager Certificate from DIA.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Willing to pursue additional state-required training.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to use or learn Bickford’s eMAR system.

Responsibilities

• Follow MAR accurately per physician orders.
• Adhere to Six Rights of medication administration and policies.
• Utilize eMAR for medication administration.
• Communicate with clinical leadership for guidance.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise non-licensed staff as needed.
• Demonstrate Bickford Mission on shift.
