Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Michigan is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and medical guidance to ensure donor and patient safety.

The role requires EMT or nursing licensure, CPR/AED certification, and clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program.
• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA-approved training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, screening, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with EHS for investigations.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
