BioLife Plasma Services in Walker, MI is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of findings. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, EMT-Paramedic license, CPR/AED, basic IV therapy eligibility, FDA training, and at least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Mansioni

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies including standing orders and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Formazione

High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of nursing program with state requirements

EMT-Paramedic license or certification

CPR and AED certification

State requirements for basic IV therapy

FDA approved BioLife MSS training

Two years clinical or hospital experience
