Job summary

Texas Oncology in Tyler, TX seeks a Scheduler to join our team. The role targets efficient appointment and test scheduling, serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff, and may include outside or surgical scheduling tasks.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with no weekends or major holidays. Level 1–Sr depends on experience; you will handle referrals, pre-certifications, and patient communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years’ experience in a medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, and/or authorization experience.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new, referred, and returning patients in the EMR.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and related referrals.
• Collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates and coordinates with physician meetings.
