Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a front desk/office coordinator to support front-end revenue cycle operations and patient experience. You will register patients, verify insurance, and manage scheduling and payments in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

This role emphasizes courteous patient interactions, accurate data entry, and efficient use of PMIS and EHR systems to ensure timely processing and positive service outcomes for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year medical office experience preferred.
• Multi-specialty office experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in the PMIS and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Answer calls, triage and route messages; maintain waiting area.
• Process scheduling for appointments, surgeries and testing.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and reconcile payments at shift end.
• Communicate with physicians' offices and staff via EHR and Patient Portal.
• Review patient accounts for outstanding balances.
