Job summary

Select Medical in Philadelphia is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to support front desk operations at our outpatient physical therapy center. You will greet patients, register visitors, schedule appointments, and handle payment duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role is Per Diem with hours varying and some evenings until 7pm. Prior front desk or medical office experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

• Minimum 1 year front desk experience.
• Preferred 1 year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide visit information.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Coordinate with attorneys, insurers, translation services, and leaders.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and handle insurance authorizations and verifications.

Type of Employment: Per Diem

Schedule: Hours vary / some evenings till 7pm

Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00/hour (pending experience)

As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. Don’t underestimate the impact you can make on every patient’s care experience, even before they leave the waiting room.

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 Year Front Desk experience

Preferred

• 1 Year of Medical Office Experience
