Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a clinical practice. You will coordinate patient care, room patients, record vitals, and assist with screening tools and wellness visits under provider supervision.

The role requires completion of an MA program and certification within 120 days, with CPR and background checks as part of employment requirements. The position may require travel between office locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, completion of a medical assistant program certification within 120 days if not already certified.
• Certified Medical Assistant (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA) preferred or required within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients according to workflows.
• Accurately record vitals and document patient information and history.
• Assist with depression screening tools and annual wellness visits.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR.
• Document in the EHR according to standards and workflows.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls as assigned.
• May float between physician office locations.
