Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a clinical practice. You will coordinate exams and treatments under supervision, prepare exam rooms, and document vitals and patient history with accuracy.

The role requires completion of a medical assistant program and relevant certification, with potential for certification within 120 days of hire. CPR and background clearances are required by policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with completion of a medical assistant program.
• Certification from NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT or AMCA preferred.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients according to standardized workflows.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient information.
• Assist with depression screening tools and annual wellness visits.
• Review and screen medication lists in the EHR; update social history.
