Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within the Allegheny Health Network. The role involves coordinating examinations, preparing patients, and documenting vital signs and history in the EHR, while adhering to AHN protocols and HIPAA requirements.

You will assist with screenings, wellness visits, and medication reviews, and may float between locations as needed. Certification within 120 days is required, with CPR and background checks completed per policy.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification requirements include completing certification within 120 days of hire.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients according to standardized workflows.
• Record vital signs, patient history, and medication screening in the EHR.
• Assist with depression screening tools and annual wellness visits.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with orders and back office testing per AHN protocols.
• Support exam procedures and may act as a scribe with training.
• Follow up with patients by preferred contact method as directed by provider.
