Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
• Certification within 120 days of hire if applicable
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
• Preferred Associate's Degree
• CPR certification and background clearances required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical practice setting according to workflows
• Accurately obtain patient vital signs and document patient information
• May assist in depression screening and annual wellness visits
• Review/update medication lists in the EHR
• Review social history and update records
• Pend/cue up orders for age appropriate screenings and prescriptions as needed
• Perform back office testing following AHN protocols
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• May serve as a scribe with additional training
• Provide follow up with patients via preferred method
• Notify patients of test results under provider guidance
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure inventory of medical supplies
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls as assigned
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties
• May float between physician office locations
