Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in our clinical practice. You will coordinate examinations, prepare patients, obtain vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist with medication administration under provider supervision. Multi-site support may be required.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, an accepted Medical Assistant certification, and CPR certification. A preferred Associate’s degree and adherence to HIPAA policies are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA) required.
• CPR certification required; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating examination, treatment and care planning.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and gather patient history.
• Document in EHR and review medication lists per protocol.
• Administer medications as approved and document accurately.
• Maintain inventory and ensure exam areas are stocked and cleaned.
• May float between office locations as needed.
