Job summary

Westmont Living in Encinitas, CA seeks a compassionate MED TECH to support residents with medication administration and daily care. You will set up medications, document administrations, and ensure MAR accuracy under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform medication setup and assist with administration as directed by RN/RSD.
• Documentation of medication assistance per policy and state requirements.
• Record keeping for PRN medications on MARs and notes on effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Set up and assist with medications as ordered by physicians.
• Record and document medication administration promptly.
• Maintain MARs with no blanks and complete notes as required by policy.
• Assist with health screenings and mandatory pre-employment checks.

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-

administration of their medications

• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at

the direction of the RN and RSD.

• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:

o Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance

o Leaves no blanks on MARs

o Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community

• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test

• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
