Job summary

Westmont Living, Inc. in Encinitas, CA is seeking a compassionate MED TECH to support residents with medication administration in an assisted living setting.

You will set up medications, assist with self-administration, and document on MARs per policy and physician orders. Responsibilities include ensuring MAR completeness, recording PRN notes, and maintaining compliance with health screenings, background checks, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after assistance
• Leaves no blanks on MARs
• Document reasons for PRN medication and effectiveness of medication
• Criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Pass health screens such as Physical, TB, and Drug test
• Maintain current basic first aid or obtain within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform medication setup and assist residents with the Medication Program
• Record and document medication administration on MARs
• Ensure MARs are complete with documented reasons for PRN meds and effectiveness
• Complete required health screenings and background checks per licensing regulations
• Maintain first aid knowledge and comply with employer policies

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
