Job summary

Westmont Living, Inc. in La Mesa is seeking a compassionate MED TECH to support residents in medication setup and self-administration under RN direction.

Qualifications

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass health screens such as TB, drug test and physical
• Current basic first aid certification or obtain within first 30 days of hire
• Experience with medication setup and MAR documentation is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform medication setup and assist residents on the Medication Program with self-administration as directed by RN/RSD
• Set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or RN/RSD
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after assistance and ensure MARs have no blanks
• Provide documentation of PRN medication reasons and effectiveness as required

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
