Job summary

Westmont Living, Inc. in La Mesa seeks a compassionate MED TECH to support residents with medications and daily living activities in an assisted living and memory care setting.

You will document MARs, follow physician orders, and coordinate with RNs to ensure safety and regulatory compliance; a health screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Medication setup and administration as ordered by physicians or RN/RSD
• Documentation of medication assistance and MAR entries per policy
• Maintain accurate MARs with reasons for PRN meds and effectiveness

Responsibilities

• Perform medication setup and assist residents with self-administration
• Set up, record, and assist with medications per orders
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after assistance
• Ensure no blanks on MARs and complete PRN notes

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
