Job summary

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, seeks an Operations Associate for the Med/Surg Unit Springfield 6400 in Springfield, MA. The role involves bed management, patient throughput, and cross-department coordination to ensure smooth admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Responsibilities include using multiple hospital systems, coordinating with RNs and CM/RN staff, and supporting post-discharge follow-ups while maintaining accurate records and timely

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required or preferred.
• Experience in clerical/customer service in healthcare is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Bed management: track, prioritize and assign beds, coordinate admissions and discharges.
• Utilize unit computer systems and ensure accurate patient data handling.
• Assist Hospitalists and coordinate communications across departments.
• Prepare staffing assignments and communicate changes to the Clinical Supervisor.
• Maintain patient records, discharge paperwork and post-discharge follow-ups.
