Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking an Operations Associate to join the Intercare team at Baystate Medical Center. This role focuses on bed management, patient flow, and efficient hospital operations to support safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities include coordinating admissions/discharges, facilitating communications among teams, handling administrative duties, and assisting with staffing, supplies, and unit operations to sustain smooth patient throughput.

Responsibilities

• Bed Management & Patient Flow: Coordinates admissions, discharges, transfers, bed assignments, patient transport, and discharge readiness; monitors bed status and supports efficient patient throughput.
• Clinical & Team Communication: Serves as a central communication resource for nurses, physicians, case managers, ancillary departments, patients/families, and hospital teams; provides shift handoffs and facilitates timely follow-up.
• Administrative & Computer Duties: Accurately uses hospital systems and maintains patient records, logs, forms, charts, and discharge/transfer documentation.
• Unit Support & Staffing: Assists with staffing assignments, scheduling, coverage, unit projects, and supports Hospitalists and teaching teams with daily operational needs.
• Supplies & Unit Operations: Maintains inventories, orders and charges supplies, restocks unit materials, and ensures required logs and resources are up to date.
• Patient & Emergency Support: Greets new patients/families, assists with inquiries, and initiates emergency procedures and mobilizes appropriate support when needed.
