Job summary

TETER Architects and Engineers seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC and plumbing design for diverse building projects. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants to deliver high-quality solutions from design through construction.

You will mentor EITs and junior engineers, manage project scope and budgets, and contribute to QA/QC and design standard improvements. CA PE licensure preferred or achievable within six months, with a competitive compensation

Qualifications

• PE licensure in California or ability to obtain within six months.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years overall mechanical engineering experience, including directing or mentoring support staff.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial or institutional projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, California Mechanical Code, and related standards.
• Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and analyses.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to develop integrated designs.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and discipline-specific budgets.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and drafters.
