Job summary

TETER is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building projects. You will work with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants to deliver high-quality solutions from design through construction.

This role emphasizes mentoring EITs and junior engineers while performing calculations, equipment selection, and ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE licensure in California or ability to obtain within six months is required.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial or institutional projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, and California Mechanical Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of HVAC and plumbing systems to meet client goals, project requirements, and codes.
• Perform and oversee engineering calculations, equipment selection, and analyses.
• Coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and budgets while keeping projects on track.
• Provide construction support through submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and problem solving.
• Mentor EITs and junior engineers.
