Job summary

TETER Architects and Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse building projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients, guiding projects from design through construction.

Ideal candidates have a CA PE, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong AutoCAD/Revit skills. The role supports hybrid work after a trial period and offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Current registration as a Mechanical Professional Engineer in California or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, California Mechanical Code and other building codes.
• Five+ years of mechanical engineering experience including mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of HVAC and plumbing systems that meet client goals and codes.
• Perform calculations, equipment selection, and analyses for system design.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, civil, and other team members.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and budgets to stay on track.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and drafters.
• Contribute to QA/QC reviews and improve design standards.
