Job summary

You will join TETER Architects and Engineers as a Mechanical Project Engineer, leading HVAC and plumbing design for diverse buildings. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants from design through construction.

You’ll mentor EITs and junior engineers, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to QA/QC and design standards improvement. This role supports a hybrid schedule after a trial period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Current Mechanical PE licensure or ability to obtain California registration within six months.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, California Mechanical Code, and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and documentation of HVAC and plumbing systems meeting client goals and codes.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and analyses for building systems.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other teams for integrated design.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and discipline budgets to stay on track.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and drafters.
