TETER Architects and Engineers in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for a range of building projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants, guiding projects from design through construction while mentoring junior staff.

Requires 5+ years of mechanical engineering and CA PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months; strong communication and project coordination skills

Qualifications

• Five or more years of mechanical engineering experience including directing or mentoring support staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Current California PE registration or the ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse building projects.
• Perform calculations, equipment selection, and analyses to support system design.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other team members on integrated designs.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and discipline budgets to keep projects on track.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, field observations, and problem solving.
• Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and drafters to support their growth.
• Contribute to QA/QC and continuously improve design standards and delivery.
