Job summary

TETER Architects and Engineers in Visalia, CA seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants, guiding projects from design through construction.

Ideal candidates hold a CA PE license (or within six months), a Mechanical Engineering degree, and 3–4+ years’ experience. AutoCAD required; Revit/BIM knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 years as a Project Engineer or similar role after PE licensure.
• CA PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial or institutional projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, and California Mechanical Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and technical analyses.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other teams for integrated design.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and budgets; ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, and field observations.
• Mentor EITs, junior engineers, and drafters; support professional growth.
• Contribute to QA/QC and continuous design improvements.
