Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design commercial HVAC equipment and systems for the Trane Commercial Systems business. You will collaborate with multiple engineering and manufacturing teams to develop concepts and solve complex problems for sustainable products.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of engineering experience in design, validation testing, or root cause analysis. Domestic travel around 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 2+ years in product design, validation or root-cause analysis.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on design projects.
• Ability to create and interpret engineering documentation and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Gather and understand customer requirements to guide design decisions.
• Apply engineering principles to solve complex design problems for HVAC products.
• Participate on project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost and schedule goals.
• Create and maintain engineering docs, 3D models, BOMs, drawings and specs.
• Conduct design FMEAs and implement risk mitigation plans.
• Deliver design outputs that meet project requirements.
• Travel up to ~10% as needed.
