Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Product Design Engineer II to join Trane Commercial Systems as a key member of the product development team. You will design HVAC water-to-water systems, lead design projects, and drive validation testing with a focus on reliability and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3–5 years of engineering or product design experience.
• Ability to function as a core team member on cross-functional product engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
• Review and understand technical feasibility; design robust, cost-effective components and develop specifications.
• Understand and apply regulatory codes and standards (UL, CRN, seismic, ASME).
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (reports, tests, drawings, specs).
• Lead project teams; provide technical guidance to labs, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations.
• Overnight travel less than 5%.
