Job summary

Trane Technologies in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer II to join our Commercial Systems team. You will develop HVAC refrigeration systems, review technical requirements, and lead design elements from concept through validation, collaborating with test labs, manufacturing, and product management in a regulated, stage-gate environment.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3–5 years of design experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of engineering or product design experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance and regulatory requirements.
• Review technical feasibility and develop specifications for components.
• Create engineering documentation and lead design projects through validation.
• Apply codes/standards (UL, CRN, seismic, ASME) and perform design FMEAs.
• Collaborate with labs, manufacturing, and product management; travel <5%.
