Job summary

Privately held New Jersey manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design in SolidWorks, create fabrication drawings, and work closely with shop floor fabricators to optimize build methods.

The role emphasizes design ownership, working on conveyors as the core workload, and expanding into equipment never built before. On-site in Morris County with no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; platform for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to design beyond drafting.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work and ability to discuss designs with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey; on-site in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Experience designing conveyors; water and wastewater background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Figure out how to build customer requirements, including equipment not previously made.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with required level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment is built right the first time.
