Job summary

Privately held water and wastewater process equipment manufacturer in New Jersey is adding a Mechanical Design Engineer to its team. Degreed ME with 3–4 years SolidWorks design experience. Base salary $75,000 to $90,000; onsite only in Morris County, NJ; relocation not offered.

You will design in SolidWorks, create fabrication drawings, and work closely with shop floor to iterate designs. Expect hands-on involvement from concept through release on conveyors and equipment the company may build

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field is required.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience; standout candidates with less will be considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; strong mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented drawing.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer-required equipment, including new designs.
• Lead conveyor designs from requirements through release drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with appropriate level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
